Added values and working principles :

Sampling:

What is the quality and value of the input, output and effluent? How accurate do I want to know?

Reduction in operating costs:

Sampling the liquid and/or gas can drastically save costs, because of the action taken in case of a deviating quality.

Safety /Environmental issues:

Sampling can analyse the amounts of hazardous and/or polluting components present.

Working principle:

Proper sampling requires a total of four basic needs:

  1. Pipeline conditioning, (mixing)
  2. Representative sampling of the batch, (location, size, quantity, sort sampler)
  3. Sample handling & mixing, (transport)
  4. Laboratry analysis

The principle of the system used is displayed in the figure below.

Sampling

Sampling in a pipeline in short is done by taking a representative small stream from the main stream which is then transported to the sample receivers. If one of the two sample receivers is full, the batch can be analysed by the lab.
